It is believed that yesterday’s Internet performance issues have been resolved.
A problem upstream with our Internet Service Provider is manifesting itself as degraded performance for off-campus Internet requests. Time Warner is aware and is working to address the issue.
Some remote sites are having problems properly routing traffic to us between our Internet 1 and Internet 2 connections. This may manifest itself as an inability to reach certain sites at certain times. We are working with our ISP(s) to resolve the issue.
Meeting Maker will undergo a 2 (two) hour maintenance window this evening (Monday, October 22, 2012) starting at 2200 (10PM). All calendering services will be unavailable during the maintenance window.
The maintenance window concluded without issue.
Tomorrow 2012-10-03 (Wednesday) at 5am, infrastructure underlying our Internet 1 and Internet 2 connections will be subject to a 1 hour maintenance window. During this time, connectivity into and out of the campus is expected to undergo a series of short outages.
At this point in time Wireless/VPN services should once again be functioning as usual to end users. Engineers have mitigated the connectivity problems caused by the failed piece of hardware while a replacement is rotated into service.
A failure of a critical component of networking electronics is causing a protracted outage of wireless and VPN connectivity. Engineers are currently working to rectify the situation. No estimated time to resolution is available at the moment.
Campus wide wireless access (W@SP) and VPN services are currently unavailable. Technicians are currently working to resolve the issue.
