Beginning at 4:30PM today, core network components responsible for wireless service on campus will undergo maintenance. There may be periods of non-connectivity during a one-hour window.
The maintenance window has closed and all SUNYNet services should be available.
Tomorrow morning at 7AM, SUNYNet connectivity may experience brief interruptions as maintenance is performed on border equipment.
A system error in a core piece of networking electronics that services the wireless network caused an approximately 10 minute interruption to wireless networking services. The error has been rectified and all systems should be functioning normally at this time.
As of 2200 on 12/21/10 all telephone services have been restored.
Bearmail will undergo a one-hour maintenance window this evening starting at 2200 (10PM), during which there may be periods of instability.
Technicians are still working to resolve the outage. At this time the carriers are evaluating all their options to repair and/or replace the damaged cable. Currently the carriers are unable to identify any physical damage. More updates to follow.
Both carriers involved in the fiber cut which has caused the loss of in-coming calls and the placing of off-campus calls from our campus are en route to start working on this cut as I type this update. I will continue to update you as information becomes available.
As of 4am this morning the fiber cut has not been repaired. Crews were called off the job early this am for safety reasons. They hope to resume repair operations shortly
