A power problem in the Raymond NOC took down two concentrator switches responsible for much of the administrative side of campus. Technicians are working to restore service.
The mailing list server (lists.potsdam.edu) will be intermittently unavailable on Wednesday the 16th from 21:00 (9:00 pm) to approximately 23:00 (11:00 pm) to facilitate system maintenance.
Our Internet service provider has scheduled emergency maintenance on our I1/I2 connection for tomorrow morning 2011-11-10. The window runs from midnight to 6am, during which we have been told to expect “multiple events of intermittent connectivity and possible downtime.”
Due to an OS fault, Moodle and a handful of other services were unavailable this morning. Resolved.
Core network problems have been resolved. All segments are once-again operating normally, and WAN connectivity has been restored.
Problems with core network gear are causing intermittent outages across campus, as well as affecting our WAN connections.
Helios will undergo system maintenance on 10/31/2011 starting at 23:00 (11PM). Helios home directories, shares, and web folders will be intermittently unavailable for the duration of the 1 hour window.
The campus mail server experienced a system fault and required a reboot. At this time the mail system should be back online, however delivery may be delayed as a backlog of mail is processed.
Underlying storage exhaustion has caused email delivery to slow for much of this afternoon. It is slowly being remedied.
Moodle experienced an outage due to a DB backend error. System Engineers have resolved the issue.
