[RESOLVED] Banner loading issues/slowness due to Potsdam network issue

Maintenance to our authentication systems is complete. All related services should be available. If you have trouble with your campus computer account username and password, please contact the CTS Helpdesk at 315-267-4444. If no one is available to answer, leave a message and your call will be returned.
Potsdam network is running extremely slow because of an Apple iOS release. Banner 9 might not load and will run extremely slow if it does.
CTS will be performing maintenance on systems that authenticate some services, most notably Office 365, tomorrow morning (10/31). Some services may not accept user passwords during this maintenance. A blog post will be made when maintenance is complete.
ITEC will be performing emergency maintenance on core network equipment starting 11/3/18 (Sat) at 10pm until Sun 6am. During this time we expect Banner/BearPAWS/BearDeN will be unavailable.
Microsoft recently released Office 2019 as part of Office 365. Some users are reporting that their Office applications are in read only mode and asking to be activated. If you are not receiving this notice, you need to take no action. Your update automatically activated successfully. To activate and sign-in: Close all of the Office applications. Make sure they are not running at all as signified by a dot under their icon in the Dock. Open one of them. For example Word. Do not do this by using an existing document, just open the program so it goes to the new document selection screen. In the welcome window where you can start a blank document, template, etc. click the icon in the upper left where it says Sign in. Once signed in (or if you are already signed in) if you see the Activate button in the lower left, click it and enter your credentials if asked.Reminder: you will sign in with your standard email and password just like any of our other services. This will enable your campus O365 subscription and activate the apps. By signing in you will now have access to many more of the options in the O365 suite than previously available with our standard site license. This has been a highly requested option that CTS is now able to provide with the recent update and release.
We are experiencing an issue with our voice mail system whereby the Message Waiting Indicator (MWI) on the phone is not illuminating when a new Voice Mail is received. Technicians are working to resolve the issue. An update will the published here when the problem is resolved.
In the spring of 2018 CTS purchased and installed a new Voice Mail System to replace the system that has been in use for over 15 years. As the transition to the new system is considered complete, we will decommission the old servers on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. If you have not yet retrieved any saved messages from the old system, please do so before that date, as they will not be accessible thereafter. To check for messages on the old system go to http://voicemail.potsdam.edu, and when the logon screen appears, enter your phone extension (4 digits) and the security code used for the OLD system. Use the drop-down menus to find, listen to, and/or forward any existing messages to another location. CTS will not be responsible for any messages left on the old system after October 31, 2018.
