The storage controllers are fully-pressed restoring underlying redundancy, but are taking longer than expected to fully recover. At this rate we do not expect email service to be restored until the early morning.

Issued By: SUNY – SUNY Potsdam Issued To: SUNY-POTSDAM-ALL Headline: SUNY Potsdam cancels afternoon classes after 2 p.m. today, due to winter weather advisory; Bear Buses will depart early at 2 p.m. Due to incoming winter storm conditions, SUNY Potsdam has cancelled all afternoon classes for Tuesday, November 26, beginning at 2 p.m. The College has rescheduled the departure time of the Bear Buses bringing students downstate today as well. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of New York State, including the North Country, beginning this afternoon and continuing through Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28. Email is recovering from multiple storage failures. During this time, email access (IMAP/POP) will range from slow to unavailable, as the underlying storage controllers work to restore redundancy. No ETA at this time.

An underlying storage issue is causing numerous issues with campus email. Technicians are actively working on the issue. All mail delivered to campus accounts during the outage will be queued for later delivery.

Banner/BearPAWS upgrades were completed Saturday afternoon, 2013-10-12.

Banner & BearPAWS will be down beginning at 1:00am Saturday 9/14/13, until Noon at the latest, for scheduled maintenance. An update will be posted when maintenance is complete.

For the last few days, a large amount of malformed network traffic has been flooding the administrative network. This manifested itself most visibly as printing difficulty, but also as periodic slowness/latency. The devices responsible for said traffic have been tracked down and removed from the network, and all issues should now be resolved.
