CTS Announcements & System Status

The VPN server experienced a software issue that was preventing logins. All issues are now resolved.

Helios shares maintenance window is closed, shares are online and available for usage.

Helios shares will undergo a one (1) hour maintenance window beginning at 23:00 (11:00 PM) tonight. Helios shares will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

Shortly before 4pm, one of the primary campus mail servers experienced a software fault, necessitating hardware reset. Upon coming back online, all queued mail was delivered without issue, and all systems are functioning normally.

As of 18:48 this evening all telephony services provided by Windstream have been restored. Please note that although services at SUNY Potsdam have been restored the splicing of the fiber has not been completed which may result in SUNY Potsdam’s services going up and down until all splicing has been completed.

As of 14:51 our campus continues to be without off-campus “ONLY” telephony services. At this time there is no ETA for service restoration. Please note four digit dialing on-campus is available as well as 911 access from on-campus. Those calls will be answered by University Police. If you have an emergency please utilize the numerous Red Emergency Phones, Blue Light Phones and Elevator phones to call University Police.

Earlier this am there was a fiber cut to telecommunications infrastructure causing all incoming and outgoing calls from campus to receive a busy signal. We are working with our vendors and hope have estimated time of service restorations soon. This page will be updated as information becomes available. This outage does NOT effect on-campus calls or call to 911.

Moodle experienced a system fault and required a hard reboot. It was unavailable for approximately 5 minutes but should now be fully available.

All network issues affecting local campus services as well as Internet connectivity have been resolved.

Engineers are currently working to resolve a network issue affecting access to campus hosted services as well as Internet connectivity.
