A system safeguard has temporarily disabled access to BearPAWS/Banner to protect data integrity. Engineers are aware of the situation and are working towards a resolution. No estimated timeframe to resolution is available at this time.
All services back online.
Several central campus services will undergo a series of brief rolling outages on 8/15/12 beginning at 11 PM. The window is expected to last up to 2 hours.
The RT tracking system is currently down. An estimated time for recovery is sometime later this evening.
Most core areas should have restored network/telephony at this time. If you are still having problems with your phone, please email telcom@potsdam.edu indicating the phone number.
Various edge network devices did not tolerate yesterday’s loss of power as well as expected. This has affected not only phones, but attached computers as well. Work is underway to check and restore connectivity globally, but this is taking time. No estimated time to completion.

At approximately 15:15 today, the campus experienced a global power outage. Power restoration began at 17:50, building by building. All core campus services remained online for the duration of the outage, with the exception of our Internet1/Internet2 connection. Our ISP reported problems well upstream of us. Internet connectivity was restored by approximately 18:16. At this time, nearly all campus services are functioning normally. A few edge network closets remain offline due to power, flooding, or HVAC issues.
Banner/BearPAWS will be down briefly for system maintenance beginning at 5:00pm. This scheduled outage should be less than 30 minutes.
