Recent Helios instability in the wee hours of the morning is causing inconsistencies in the user backup sets (_backup folders). For those users who have critical data on Helios, and for which they consider backups necessary, CTS is encouraging the use of additional personal backup copies of said data until the situation stabilizes. Technicians are working diligently to correct the issue.
Helios will be going down for a brief maintenance window starting this evening at 11PM. Window expected to be less than 10 minutes.
The mail queue cleared out by 6PM, and all mail is caught up and moving normally with no delays.
The campus Internet email exchanger is experiencing problems, leading to delays receiving email incoming from the Internet. Sending or receiving mail locally, or sending to off-campus addresses is not affected.
The campus webserver experienced application-level anomalies which caused all hosted web resources to be sporadically/completely unavailable throughout the morning. These anomalies have resolved themselves and all web resources should now be available.
Helios experienced a system fault this morning and required a reboot. All services should now be available.
The campus mail server experienced a software fault and required a reboot.
