CTS Announcements & System Status

Banner/BearPAWS/BearDen will be taken down for maintenance at 4:00pm today. We expect to be back up by 7:00pm but will update this CTS Announcement and System Status page when they are back up.

Apogee will be preforming backend upgrades of their equipment. Users will experience interruptions in service while they complete the maintenance activities; the interruptions are expected to be 30-60 minutes of downtime intermittent during maintenance window total.

Tests of the network changes were all successful. Network maintenance for the evening of Tuesday, Dec 22, 2015 is complete.

Announced Network changes have been made. Testing now begins. Another message will be posted when testing is complete.

As announced earlier today, network maintenance will occur this evening (12/22/2015). We are preparing for the maintenance, which will begin at 7:00pm. Most users should experience no loss of service. A message will be posted once the change, and testing, are complete.

There is a planned outage for 2pm EST on Wednesday, 12/23/15 to upgrade controllers that are facing an issue. The planned outage is scheduled for a window of 2 hours but we expect only 15 minutes of downtime.

As announced on December 8, 2015, the VPN service at vpn.potsdam.edu has been terminated. A new and more secure VPN service, “Global Protect” from PaloAlto Networks, is now available at palo.potsdam.edu. The new VPN service requires a small amount of setup. Instructions are on this Helpdesk page.
