Network Instability continues. Anything network-based will have performance issues. Symptoms of the problem we are experiencing include, but are not limited to: choppy and erratic phone performance, Helios disconnections, slow internet browsing or pages failing to load, and errors when printing large jobs. Investigation is still ongoing. –Steve Major
Primary services have been restored. We still continue to experience some network slowness. Technicians are continuing to look into the problem.
Technicians will perform a reset of the network electronics serving our main data center this evening. This will necessitate taking most of our high-availability services offline for the duration of this maintenance. Work will commence at 9:30 P. M. An update will be published when maintenance is complete.

CTS continues to receive reports of problems indicative of our network operating in a degraded state. Technicians continue to investigate.
The campus was hit with a massive influx of network traffic. The devices receiving this traffic have been targeted and taken offline. Things should be back to “normal”.
There was a “hiccup” in our Maple License Manager. It has been updated to include service to version 18 clients. Users may see a message about a time-expiring license which will expire sometime in September. The server will be updated before then, when we get an updated license from SUNY.
ITEC has scheduled a maintenance window from 4AM-7AM on 6/11/14 to migrate the SUNY-wide SPSS license. SUNY Potsdam SPSS clients will be unable to obtain a license during this window.
ITEC reports that services have been restored.
